About

NIC was established in 1997 in the Regional Administrator Office complex, Yanam. Since then, NIC played a vital role in creating IT awareness among the government departments. With the satellite based network NICNET, it has supported the departments in providing the e-mail, Internet facilities.

It has also provided the Video Conferencing facility from Yanam to Pondicherry and New Delhi. Through the official website http://yanam.gov.in, it has uploaded the departmental information for the public to make the transparency in the governance.

NIC has rendered commendable services in recent General, Assembly and Civic Elections as well as computerizing major public oriented departments. Thus, the NIC has become the catalyst in the e-Governance initiatives in Yanam region in these 12 years and is looking forward to do so many ICT projects in future.
